The Knights of Columbus Museum’s seventh annual crèche exhibit opened Nov. 15, featuring nativity scenes crafted by artists throughout Africa. The Knights of Columbus Museum annually welcomes area schools to visit the Museum and decorate one of its two dozen Christmas Trees. The students are encouraged to prepare ornaments and other decorations in advance on the theme of the Museum’s main Christmas exhibition. This year, elementary schools across Connecticut accepted the invitation, and decorated their respective trees during the first week of December. View winners of the judging
It is said to have protected the city of Novgorod from invading Suzalians in 1170. At that time the city was besieged by the troops of Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, but in his distress the Archbishop of Novgorod processed the icon around the city walls, and shortly after, the siege was lifted.

Basilian Father Thomas Rosica, who coordinated World Youth Day in Toronto (2002) presented two lectures on the Pope John Paul II’s life: The Great Laboratories of Faith: World Youth Days in the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II and The Suffering and Death of a Shepherd: What Pope John Paul II Taught Us in the End.
Fifty works by American Action painter William Congdon will be exhibited starting Feb. 22, 2012. Congdon’s images of urban landscapes and religious themes caught the attention of critics and fellow artists alike.

The Knights of Columbus was active in relief efforts to U.S. troops during and after World War I. Through The Art of War, posters and other visuals helped inform Americans and persuade them to support war relief efforts.
