John Vianney

Widely known as the Curé of Ars, St. John Vianney (1789-1859) is the patron of parish priests. He earned renown throughout his native France and beyond for his teaching and spiritual guidance as a confessor. He was canonized in 1925. This portrait is from the American College at Louvain, a former U.S. seminary in Belgium.


Current Exhibitions


The museum’s 11th annual Christmas exhibition will feature 76 Nativity scenes from the central European nations of Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. Additionally, the museum’s own collection of crèches from around the world will be on display, including its recent acquisition, a modern Neapolitan diorama.
