States Gallery

The membership of the Knights of Columbus is composed of affiliated state and territorial councils in jurisdictions where Knights are located worldwide. These state councils and those subordinate local councils and assemblies, from which they are created, abound in a host of activities and programs that are geared toward volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and youth.

A state council is made up of the state deputy, who is the representative of the supreme knight in each state, and the other state officers, the last living past deputy, the grand knight and a past grand knight from each subordinate council. A state council can be formed from three or more councils in good standing, with a total membership of 400.

Charters establishing subordinate councils are granted upon completion of a roster of 30 members or applicants for membership. Titles of other officers on both state and local levels are similar to those on the supreme level, with some additions.

This gallery is dedicated to those programs and activities of the Knights, and to the regions where they are located, abounding in both natural beauty and abundant resources.
