James and Tatiana Jackson Collection
The exhibit displayed 84 works of art from the James and Tatiana Jackson Collection of Russian Icons. It was the first New England showing of sacred art secreted out of Russia during the communist era, when such art was outlawed and subject to destruction. The museum viewer’s senses were overwhelmed by the multiple images of Jesus Christ, the Madonna and Child, angels and Russian saints.
