Knights of Columbus Museum: Past Exhibits

Easter, Eggs & Art

March 22, 2006 – October 8, 2006
Robert and Yvonne Klancko

Assembled over a period of 40 years and from the private collection of Robert and Yvonne Klancko, the 467 magnificently decorated eggs in the exhibit represented two major art genres, classic and folk. With the advent of Christianity, the egg came to epitomize life itself, as well as faith and hope, and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Several icons and triptychs were included, comparing personalized egg art with the sacred images created for liturgical and devotional use.
